Anonymity is the setting, not a feature you unlock. Below, two of them in motion, as scripted demos — the PII auto-scrub that hides contact details in a delivered message, and the mutual-continue gate that decides whether a chat persists at all. ### Anonymous by default No email, no profile, no recovery flow. A guest session is a first-class way to use SafeMeet. ### A hash, not a dossier A soft device fingerprint is hashed server-side and used only to carry sanctions. Raw IPs and device components are never stored. ### Never sold, never trained on Your messages are never sold, licensed, or used to train external AI models. The only readers that aren’t human are AI moderation and, in an AI-companion chat, the model that writes its replies. ### Gone in 30 days Retained for moderation audit, then deleted 30 days after a chat ends. Reopening a conversation restarts that clock; there is no other exception. pii auto-scrub ## A phone number or email it recognises is hidden from the stranger. In a delivered message, the scrubber hides the phone numbers, email addresses, http(s) links, @handles and crypto wallet addresses it recognises, and the person who receives it sees \[hidden — personal info\] in their place. It matches patterns, not meaning, so a detail written another way can get past it, and it has no pattern for a street address. It does not block the message: the message is delivered, and its sender is told that personal info was hidden. Separately, every message is checked before delivery, and in our evals a text that shares a phone number or home address is flagged; a flagged text is delivered with a safety notice to its sender, and one the check scores high enough to block is withheld. It runs in your browser with no signup, and it's $0, free for now. It's for ages 13 and up, and a declared teen is never matched with a declared adult. If no person is free, you may be matched with a labeled AI companion. No. There are no usernames, handles, public profile pages or friends lists, so nobody can search for you or look you up. Your chat partner sees a display name only if you add one, whether you chat as a guest or signed in. The app also gives your session an internal ID to run your chat, and it is never shown as a name. Yes. Guest sessions don't require email or profile. We do hash a soft device fingerprint server-side — only used to carry sanctions across browser-clear attempts. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional and keeps your identity across devices. Either way, every message is checked before it's delivered, and you can end any chat at any time. No. SafeMeet is not end-to-end encrypted: our servers check every message before it's delivered, so they receive its content. Our AI moderation providers receive every message our instant filter lets through, and in an AI-companion chat, the model that writes its replies receives each message you send once it is delivered, with the chat's recent messages. Connections to safemeet.now and app.safemeet.now use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or newer. Messages stop sending. We call this fail-closed: if the moderation provider is unreachable or returns an answer we can't read, the message is blocked instead of being delivered unchecked, and it is not queued to go out later. A message blocked because of an infrastructure failure never counts against the sender. Not when both have declared an age: we never match two people who've declared different bands, teen (13–17) or adult (18+), and the same rule is checked again before each message is delivered. Age is self-declared, not verified. People who haven't shared an age can still match with anyone, whichever band you declared. On top of that, every message is scanned before it's delivered. SafeMeet is for ages 13 and up. If you're under 18, we strongly recommend a parent or guardian knows you're here. Add your age and we'll never match you with someone who declared the other age group — a declared teen is never matched with a declared adult. People who haven't shared an age can still match with anyone. No. An AI companion chat is labeled as AI from the moment it starts, and so is every message it sends. Disclosure is hardcoded, not a setting or a flag. If no human match arrives in time, you may be matched with an AI companion. It's labeled — always, every message. You can tap Next at any time to end that chat and start a new match search. It's an ordinary search with no priority, so if no one is free you may be matched with the AI companion again. Yes. A new guest session inheriting a sanctioned cluster gets a generic 'unable to start a session' screen. Hard phone/device attestation is deferred until volume justifies it. We don't. An instant filter checks every message, and AI reads each one it lets through. No person reads your messages to decide a moderation or report outcome, and there is no human review queue. Engineers can access an individual message only under a formal legal obligation (a lawful request or an active legal hold). The chat ends and can never be reopened, and an AI reads your report and the most recent messages. No person reviews it, and the other person is not told it was a report. A temporary ban follows only when enough different people report the same account; it lifts itself after twenty-four hours and can be appealed. Not when it looks like one. In a delivered message, SafeMeet replaces an email address, an http or https link, a phone number, an @handle or a crypto wallet address with \[hidden — personal info\] before your partner sees it.
