How this list is kept
A wrong number on a page like this is worse than no number, so each entry was read on the helpline's own website or on an official government page, linked under it, and a country whose number could not be confirmed that way is left out. Hours and services change; the date above is the last time every entry was checked. If a number here is out of date, email hello@safemeet.now and it will be checked again.
Inside the SafeMeet app, the crisis panel is shorter on purpose: 988 for the US and Canada, findahelpline.com everywhere else. How and when it appears is on the crisis protocol page.
Questions about these helplines
What if my country is not listed?
Find a free, confidential helpline for your country at findahelpline.com, the same pointer the SafeMeet app shows. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
How do you know these numbers are right?
Each number was read on the helpline's own website or on an official government page, linked under its entry, on October 23, 2026. A country whose number could not be confirmed that way is left out rather than guessed.
What happens on SafeMeet if someone says they are thinking of self-harm?
Crisis resources reach that person privately, inside the chat they are already in, and disclosing is never punished. The crisis protocol page describes exactly how.
