Anonymous chat with a stranger, without an account
SafeMeet pairs you with one stranger at a time, in text and images. You start from a guest session, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to hand over.

What anonymous means here
Tap Start chatting and you get a guest session: no signup, no email, no phone number and no card. There is no profile to fill in, no username, no follower count and no public feed. SafeMeet is for one private conversation at a time, and your partner sees the messages you send and nothing else about you.
Signing in with Google or Apple is optional. It keeps your identity across devices, and it changes nothing about what the person you are talking to can see.
What your chat partner cannot see
If a delivered message contains an email address, a link, a phone number, an @handle or a crypto wallet address, SafeMeet replaces it with a placeholder before your partner reads it. That works by matching patterns, not meaning, so a detail written another way can get past it. Keep to the rule that holds everywhere: do not share anything you would not want a stranger to have. The phone number guide lists what is hidden and where the hiding stops.
What SafeMeet itself still handles
Anonymous to the other person is not the same as invisible to the service. SafeMeet hashes a soft device fingerprint on its servers, used only to carry a sanction across a cleared browser, and never stores raw IP addresses or device components. Messages are deleted 30 days after a conversation ends.
SafeMeet is not end-to-end encrypted. Our servers check every message before it is delivered, so they receive its content, and so do the AI moderation providers for anything the instant filter lets through. If a conversation has to stay unreadable to the service itself, this is not the place for it; the encryption guide explains the trade.
Anonymous, but not unaccountable
Anonymity is only worth having if misbehaving in it has a cost. Every message is checked before it is delivered: an instant filter first, then an AI moderation model for what the filter lets through. A message either check blocks is never delivered, and a borderline text is still delivered, with a safety notice to its sender. If the checks cannot run, messages stop sending rather than going out unchecked.
In a chat with a person, Panic and Block sit in the chat header. Panic ends the chat and files a report, and once a chat has ended you can report it from your inbox. Automated checks miss things, and the safety page lists what the AI still misses.
Questions about anonymous chat
Do I need an account?
No. Tap Start chatting and you get a guest session: no signup, no email, no phone number and no card. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional and keeps your identity across devices. Either way, every message is checked before it's delivered, and you can end any chat at any time.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. Guest sessions don't require email or profile. We do hash a soft device fingerprint server-side — only used to carry sanctions across browser-clear attempts. Raw IPs and device components are never stored.
Can the other person see my phone number or email?
Not when it looks like one. In a delivered message, SafeMeet replaces an email address, an http or https link, a phone number, an @handle or a crypto wallet address with [hidden — personal info] before your partner sees it. It matches patterns, not meaning, so a detail written another way can get past it. Never share a detail you would not want a stranger to have.
Is SafeMeet end-to-end encrypted?
No. SafeMeet is not end-to-end encrypted: our servers check every message before it's delivered, so they receive its content. Our AI moderation providers receive every message our instant filter lets through, and in an AI-companion chat, the model that writes its replies receives each message you send once it is delivered, with the chat's recent messages. Connections to safemeet.now and app.safemeet.now use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or newer.
