Redact contact info from text
Paste a message, a bio or a post and get it back with phone numbers, emails, links, @handles and crypto wallet addresses hidden. It uses the same patterns SafeMeet uses to hide contact details from the person you are chatting with, and it runs in your browser.
Hidden: 1 email, 1 phone number, 1 link, 1 @handle.
How to use it
- Paste or type the text into the box.
- Read the cleaned version underneath: each email, link, phone number, @handle or wallet address is replaced with [hidden — personal info].
- Copy the cleaned text and use it wherever you were going to paste the original.
Where it comes from
In a SafeMeet chat, these five kinds of text are replaced in a delivered message before the other person sees it. This page runs the same patterns on whatever you paste. Does SafeMeet hide your phone number? explains what your chat partner sees and where the hiding stops.
Questions about the redaction tool
What does it hide?
Email addresses, http and https links, full ten-digit phone numbers with or without a country code, @handles, and Bitcoin or Ethereum wallet addresses. A bare number such as an age, and a clock time such as @5pm, are left alone.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The redaction runs in your browser; the text you type never leaves the page.
Does it find contact details written in other ways?
No. It matches patterns, not meaning, so a number written out in words, a phone number grouped differently from 3-3-4 digits (as many outside North America are), or an address split across lines gets past it. Read the result before you share it.
